Unless he lives in a hotel room and/or has significant financial means this seems very unlikely.
That why I said scam. He’d be collecting money from the BASE community to rip them off.
Zero chance for a permit, so zero chance for a ballroom or an “event”. He might figure he could just get a hotel room to huck and call it a day, whilst absconding with both jumpers’ and the public’s cash, and simulataneously burning the only building in SD to have ever hosted a legal jump (cf: Red Bull Air Force 2012’ish).
He posted on his facebook page last year saying he was the dealer for Atair, Phoenix and Adrenaline, and to send him money to get discounted gear. I contacted them and they made him take it down, so he is still being a nut job.
