Yah but orange has way more speed, hence why Phoenix fly uses it. This is simple aeronaticalcolorimetry really.

This video is actually a really good learning tool for people starting to jump one piece track suits. (Im editing my previous response because it was probably sounded a bit more critical than I intended). If these two pilots are indeed flying the exact same or extremely similar suits, the difference in their flight is a really good example of tracking steeply and obtaining lift with speed, vs tracking very close to the stall point of the suit.

Orange jumper. Seems to drop quickly, but much faster forward, and slowly seem to float up on the blue jumper as the flight goes on.

Blue jumper. Floaty exit, but never generates much speed. You can head a bit of potato chippy wind noise. Much higher than orange guy, but dropping farther back, and sinking slowly. Also maybe some slight instability (wobbly video). An impressive distance for sure by both suits, but very different flying style.

Tracking is the new wingsuit!

what was the choice of fabric for the suits? Para or ultralight?

Parapac. But can be ordered in ultralight fabric, if needed.

Somehow I automatically assumed those suits were/are PF suits.
Oops..Airglide Mono suits.

Squirrel, PF and Airglide are making one piece tracking and suits and Sfly.
...missing any others?

Also, ultralight fabric suits....isn't it safe to assume we all need/want this?
Less durable for sure, but if it was durable as para wouldn't everything switch to ultralight fabric?
is that the only reason to not order ultralight, because it's less durable?

Would the performance of the suit be any different?

I believe some ultralight fabric has low-drag characteristics but I'd like to know more about it too if anyone has advice.

Ultralight fabric is much less durable and a bit more expensive. As for me, it makes sense if every 100 grams counts and every single part of your equipment is lightweight.

Like UL rig + UL wingsuit is expensive, but much more comfortable. And you don't care for durability, you're cool as fuck with all this ultralight stuff Smile

Airglide now has on the contrary ultra-durable fabric, btw. It's a bit stiffer, denser and more slippery. And it flies different than regular parapac.

I think sadly sfly is no longer in the wingsuit/tracksuit game. The development of one piece tracking suits will be interesting because theyre simple enough that a person who is decently competent with a sewing machine can make one that flies compareable to the big companies. Im sure in a handful of years, they will all look exactly the same when we figure out what is the best (similar to wingsuits now), but for now, its kind of wide open and interesting.

I got a midair outside shot of it today, it certainly is big just looking at it or wearing it on the ground, and its not getting any better when its inflated. The silhouette resembles more a wingsuit than a tracksuit. But such a fun beast to fly!

From what I see on this picture : it's not a tracking suit, because you can't run full speed with ...

I still fly a prototype of Onesie which really (really!) look like this one. Same size, same side cells, same ending bellow the arms, same leg wing size, but no boosters. (I have a onesie too, but I HATE boosters, and the prototype start flying earlier)
I had to cut the leg wing in 2 pieces and put some strong magnets to make the suit ok for running. And when I say running, it's not running like a lady holding her dress. As Robi say, if you can't put your knee at belly level, it's not a tracking suit !
Wink

BTW, except the boosters and the running problem, this mono look nice !

It's kinda ridiculous to call these suits tracking suits. That being said, I think they are awesome!

You are right, but no need to re-invent the wheel, as the correct term was coined some years ago. The correct term, per one famous basejumper who really likes the color black, is

"shitty little wingsuit"

P.S. I got to see Alex K fly his Mono in Turkey off a subterminal cliff, and the performance was pretty impressive, as was the build of the suit.

Wasn't "shitty little wingsuit" for a PTS/TS? That should make this just a "shitty wingsuit" :)

You forgot me Frown RBASEG
For the ultralight when most of your jumps are 2 to 4 hours hike you know why you do not care if it's less or more durable. BTW if basejumpers would just take care of their equipment like putting the stashbag under the container and the suit when putting the lines in the tailpocket you would be surprised by the durability of the ultralight fabrics

Back to the original subject, this looks like a good tracking suit. The next wingsuiter who want to call it shitty wingsuit I want to see his arms up over his head for his next running exit Laugh[/laugh]

If you're gonna get a Mono and you want it shipped to the USA, just be sure to pay for it in a disputable way, use a private shipper like UPS, FedEx, or DHL, and pay extra for insurance. Because there's a huge chance it will never show up at your house.
