hi peeps!!!! recently purchased the great book of BASE and have to say that if your new to BASE as i am or are just looking for some more info, opinions or help this is an absolute must!!!!!!!! know this is coming across as a sales pitch but i really was blown away by the amount of info contained in these pages...... as the book states it is NOT a how to book or a substitute for a jump instructor but probably the first gathering of knowledge on our sport to be put together and is full of us full tips and advise for new and old jumpers!!!!! if your interested just follow the link below http://base-book.com/ i promise you will not be disappointed!!!!! "The most comprehensive and diverse collection of BASE information available. A must own, must read, for everyone from interested observers and novices to dedicated BASE jumpers and the most seasoned veterans."

No, it doesn't show you how to pack. This would take a book on its own and to be honest I don't think you can really learn this from a book. If you want to learn to pack talk to a jump instructor or find a mentor as I'm trying to... Stay in one piece

Who the fuck gave you a decoder ring?!? In all seriousness, you probably need to make a few BASE jumps before you put all of US in your club... And yes, a person who is experienced at packing parachutes can learn from a book, which is why they make parachute manuals. Example: http://www.parachutemanuals.com/ PS: many of US are in the book PPS: bring your copy to Bridge Day '12 and I will autograph page 43 for you... unless of course I die before October

I mean no disrespect... All I was trying to say is I think Matt Gerdes did a fucking good job on his book and for some one in my position, with NO experience, struggling to find any info it really helped. Nice jump by the way (page 43)
Hope to see you at bridge day!!!!!!!

You're annoying and don't even rate a sarcastic picture. No offense, I'm sure you're just jazzed and mean well.

Not sure why everyone else are being such cunts, however I too agree that The Great Book of Base is every bit as awesome as you say it is. I highly recommend it to all jumpers. Good luck on your journey, have fun be safe.
