Hi to all out there in the world!!!!!!!!! Im completly new to BASE!!!! Only ever done a tandem jump and looking to do my aff course this summer but am really curious to find out what this is all about. From reading the site the best way to do this is by joining a ground crew....... Well I live in Bournemouth, England and I'm all yours!!!!!!!!!!! Is anyone out there who doesn't mind someone who has know idea what he's doing coming along to help and find out more about the sport???!!!! I HAVE NO IDEAS OF JUMPING!!!!!!!!!! I rock climb a lot, love being out doors and don't mind the driving about or early mornings/long evenings. So please help!!!! I feel a bot mental as everyone I talk to seems to think I'm mental!!!!!! Would be good to figure out why I'm so drawn to the idea of leaping off a cliff!!!!!! Cheers Jiminey

Some day I will write stories about the last thirty years when ground crewing saved lives, diverted law enforcement, traffic and whatever, watched your dog, made you a high carb dinner before an antenna climb, expedited rescue and treatment, got the best video, cleaned you and the scene and had a cold one ready at the base of the BASE! So much more.... Joy

Hi Chimeny, The reason you have no offers yet is because you have not used enough exclamation marks. You will find the responses are more forthcoming if you use the appropriate keys to enter many, many more, although I must say you are completely on track with the unnecessary capitalisation. You could always hang out with the paraglider gang in Bournemouth as a starting point as they jump off cliffs too. The official take-off for Bournemouth cliffs is at Fisherman's Walk, on the East Cliff and they will be there anytime the wind is from the south. Ask to speak to Russel Whyte and say hi from me once he works out what I've done to him and stops laughing. He's a "bot mental" too so you should get along fine. Good luck, Weathergirl.

Cheers for the response. Was thinking of going down to honington. Had a friend jump there and he said they were great guys and really helpful through out his level 1. But if you got any suggestions is like to hear them... Am slowly getting through the articles but must admit haven't got on to the ethics side yet. I did a bungee jump 5 years ago an that was what first sparked the idea, then I met Tim Emmet while out climbing one day. We got onto talking bout big falls on sport climbs and he suggested having a look into it if I like that sort of thing but was careful to explain how dangerous it is which is why its taking me so pong to even start doing anything about it.... Ow, don't suppose you know if anyone's jumped at cheddar gorje??? Might be worth a look...
