Apex summit container? Can't Post

Hi all,

Is anyone jumping these? Not much info on the Apex site? Wondering how they go with low go n throw jumps right through to wingsuiting and tracking terminal shit? Im thinking their ment to be the Apex answer to the morphious helium??? Was tossing up between a Apex DP or a Morphious Helium then I saw these... Some more info on them would be awesome...

Cheers all

Hey Mate,

Have one with a ultra lite 242 flik

LOVE it

done 30 terminal jumps and it feels freakin awesome... Dual pin of course, but can change the base plate in the back to closing from yoke flap with the ease of changing over in 2 secs...

very small and tight fitting on the back and is perfect.. email me for a pic mate...

dynamic corners, the best thing about it is when i jump it feels like i am wearing nothing at all...

Have not done any low and dirty stuff with it but give me another month and i will be back in action..

Send me a Pm with ya email address and i will send you a pic of it going off a wall..

Can't seem to see much difference. The only thing is that in summit you can move both closing loops to flaps and in TL only the bottom one?

Is maybe one smaller than the other? Does anybody have experience with both?

Any information on how to modify a packjob for a through-loop container? Or are people just making shit up in that department?

Don't have one myself -- just curious about how much screwing around one has to do to get the packjob to work.

Re: [skow] Apex summit container? [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't have one yet, but I've got one on order and it should be ready any day now. According to their lead times, it should have been ready last week, but I'm sure Apex is busy with peak summer demand and the Lite/Ultralite line-set thing.

My understanding is that the Apex TL has TLs on both the top and bottom, but the Summit only has one on top. Hopefully I'll know for sure in a week or two.

My Summit is here and yes, it has a top through loop, but not a bottom one. You can also convert it to a regular dual-pin setup and that's how I've been using it so far. I've put five jumps on it.

Re: [jws3] Apex summit container? [In reply to] Can't Post

i cant help but wonder, if there will be any issues in the future, if a person does that last fold too close to the top through loop closing loop, if there is a chance that during a rapid slider up extraction the closing loop can actually burn or do anything funky to the canopy fabric itself, like during a lineburn...............

probably not gonna happen but weirder things have happened. i dont know if that made sense, im on PK's

I was pretty scared about this as well when i started to jump containers with through loops. But now after roughly couple of hundred jumps on them I have to say that at least the probability of this happening cannot be very high as I have not seen any burn marks on my canopy on the fabric which is near the loop. Also majority of my friends jmp through loop containers and I have not heard of single case of burn marks caused by the through loop. So I'm not saying that it cannot happen but I think it is not a thing to be excessively worried about.

Re: [blitzkrieg] Apex summit container? [In reply to] Can't Post

I didn't know about the TL when I ordered it. I thought it was like a DP, but just shaped a little better for tracking. Plus it was newer than the DP, so I just assumed it was more awesome :)
