Apex BASE Introduces the Lynx new
Apex BASE, the world’s largest and most-respected manufacturer of BASE-specific equipment, recently released its Lynx BASE canopy.
BASE jumpers have trusted Apex designs since the earliest days of the sport. Since then, the original FLiK, the Fox, the Lobo, the Rock Dragon and the FLiK II have all rightfully earned their place in the arsenals of thousands of BASE jumpers all over the world. The Lynx is proudly poised to join this legacy of excellent performance in opening, flight and flare.
The Lynx represents an innovative advance in technology: an industry-first I-beam profile and updated crossports. The ports are positioned on the panel to maximize airflow while minimizing the effect on structural integrity and limiting airfoil deformation under load. The Lynx also features Vtec (three of seven cell vent configuration), which allows easy in-flow to the bottom surface vents, consistent pressurization and a powerful flare—all without compromising the dependable, on-heading performance the world has come to expect from Apex parachutes.
The Lynx comes with a long list of standard features: Vtec, a top-loading tail pocket (to reduce the incidence of “line dump”), color-coded line attachment tabs (for easier packing), Multi-2 tail pocket support system (for consistent deployments), tailgate-friendly lines and highest-quality stainless steel hardware (with covers). The canopy’s two toggle settings and two brake settings make moving from slider-up to slider-off a breeze, keeping the canopy’s flight characteristics consistent from one configuration to the next.
Starting at $1,900 USD, the Lynx is available in a variety of colors and 11 different sizes, ranging from 200 square feet to 300 square feet. It is also available in Ultralite fabric.
The Lynx is designed and manufactured in sunny California, where Apex BASE was founded and has been headquartered for 20 years.
Apex brings more cumulative years of experience in BASE-specific equipment design, manufacturing and instruction than any other company in the world.
